About NSW Pool Safety
Plain-English pool barrier rules, published prices, and a simple way to send an enquiry.
A private website, not a government agency
NSW Pool Safety is run by nswpoolsafety.com.au. It isn't part of the NSW Government, the Building Commission or any council, and it doesn't inspect pools, issue certificates or do repairs.
It explains what the NSW rules ask of pool owners, with the source for every rule and price, and takes enquiries from Greater Sydney for pool barrier inspections, compliance certificates and pool fence and gate repairs. Inspections and certificates can only be done by a council or a certifier registered with the NSW Building Commission. Fence and gate work over $5,000 including GST needs a licensed contractor.

How the information is kept accurate
Official sources first
Rules come from the NSW Government's pool guidance and council documents. Each page lists its sources and the date they were checked.
Where the prices come from
Every price names who published it and when. Prices from different businesses are never averaged or blended into one range.
Your decision
You choose who inspects your pool and who repairs it. The certifier who inspects doesn't have to be the business that fixes it.
